Background:
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) was commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) to implement the Green Hydrogen Investments Programme in India. The programme supports the initiation of green hydrogen projects in hard-to-abate industries through improvement of technical requirements and enabling framework conditions.
India is emerging as a future hub for Green Hydrogen derivatives such as Green Ammonia and Green Methanol. With increasing focus on maritime decarbonisation and alternative marine fuels, Indian ports are expected to play a critical role in storage, handling, transfer, and bunkering operations associated with green fuels.
To support operational preparedness and awareness among port and maritime stakeholders, GIZ intends to undertake a Capacity Development & Operational Readiness Programme on Safe Bunkering of Green Ammonia and Green Methanol.
Objective and Tasks of the Assignment:
The assignment aims to enhance the technical understanding and operational preparedness of Indian port personnel and maritime stakeholders associated with handling, storage, transfer, and bunkering operations related to Green Ammonia and Green Methanol.
The selected contractor shall be responsible for:
- Development of a comprehensive training curriculum and learning materials
- Conducting classroom-based trainings and workshops for relevant stakeholders
- Developing training modules covering:
- Green fuel fundamentals
- Port infrastructure and bunkering systems
- Safety and risk management
- Codes, standards, and compliance
- Emergency preparedness and response
- Terminal operations and maintenance
- Preparing presentations, case studies, videos/animations, quizzes, handbooks, and supporting learning materials
- Conducting scenario-based discussions and table-top exercises
- Coordination with ports and stakeholders for organizing training sessions
- Documentation and reporting of programme activities
