Background:
Upscaling Renewables in India is a project under the umbrella of Indo – German Energy Programme being implemented in India by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in Germany. The program supports Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) in India. The program contributes to a sustainable and inclusive energy transition towards climate neutrality by promoting renewable energy expansion, modernization of the energy system, decarbonization of the economy, and approaches for a just transition in affected regions.
Under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG: MBY), MNRE is scaling rooftop solar installations across 1 crore households. With increasing penetration of Distributed Renewable Energy (DRE), MNRE has identified the need for a national-level generation monitoring framework, supported by a centralised IoT platform and data server, to enable near real-time monitoring, and analysis of energy generation data received from Remote Monitoring Systems (RMS) installed at rooftop solar plants. The proposed assignment would focus on the design, development, and initial operationalisation of a national level IoT-based DRE generation monitoring platform for MNRE.
Objectives: To provide technical advisory and implementation support for the design, development, deployment, and initial operation of a secure, scalable, and vendor-neutral national IoT platform for monitoring generation from distributed rooftop solar installations under PMSG: MBY.
Tasks of the assignment:
Task 1: IoT platform technical Design, Development and deployment Task 2: Integration, Security, validation and Scalability of Platform
